The Future of Hydrogen: Science, Applications and Energy Transition Conference took place on 17th-19th April 2024 at the Hotel THB Los Molinos in Ibiza, Spain.
The first Balance Conference featured Carolina Gimbert Suriñach (Departament de Química Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona, Spain), Sixto Gimenez Julia (Universitat Jaume I, Instituto de Materiales Avanzados (INAM), Spain) and Emilio Palomares (Institut de Recerca Química de Catalunya and Institució Catalana de Recerca i Estudis Avançats, Spain) as scientific organizers who ensured the success of the conference by bringing together experts in the specialised field of hydrogen.
The meeting provided attendees the opportunity to enjoy the exceptional views of Ibiza, thanks to the venue’s privileged location, while exploring hydrogen topics such as hydrogen production and water splitting or “green” cracking and reforming technologies, as well as storage strategies such as new materials for solid state H2 storage, their applications and their role in the energy transition. The conference also offreded stage for emerging scientists and new researchers featuring flash talks and team discussions.
During the days, participants also had the opportunity to explore the Mediterranean island of Ibiza thanks to the networking activities offered during free time, which allowed them to experience the full conference experience.
